The practice

An idea needs
to be tried.

Research, design, and engineering stay in the same room. We move between understanding the problem, making a prototype, and testing it in real use.

  1. Frame the work.

    Understand who will use it, the constraints they face, and what a useful result would look like.

  2. Make it tangible.

    Build the smallest prototype that lets people try the core interaction. Use it to test the idea before expanding the scope.

  3. Test the details.

    Check the work against real use, performance, and accessibility. Keep what works; revise or stop what does not.
